Argulosis Disease

Causal organism - Fish louse (Argulus spp;) which is large and has about 1 cm

Can occur in any season if the water quality is poor. 

Clinical signs - Tissue swelling due to penetration into the skin and sucking blood, extraction of mucus, bursting the blood vessels, forming red spots on the skin, formation of sores, more extraction of mucus and exhaustion due to itching pain.

Preventive and Control measures – Exchange the pond water frequently, remove aquatic plants that can live, fish louse egg frequently, infected fishes are soaked in 5 ppm KMnO4 for about 3-5 minutes.
