Also occur in wild hosts (wild rice, banana, coconut, oak, barley, tobacco, sugarcane, millet)

Nature of Damage - Caterpillar folds the leaf and attach the leaf margins together and feed inside the leaf fold.
Damage Symptoms - Vertical leaf folds, transparant and whitish streaks on the leaf blade

Best Control Measures
In China, egg parasotiod wasps (Trichogramma japonicum and Apanteles cypris) are used
Granulosis virus can destroy 30-40 % of caterpillars
IET 8675/ 8698/ 8710/ 7776 varieties are moderately resistant to leaf folder
Narrow-leaf blade varieties are more resistant than wide-leaf varieties
