Apply approved contact insecticides at recommended rate at economic threshold level.

  • Azinphos-methyl 0.3-0.5 Kg/ha

  • Dichlorvos 0.4-0.6 Kg/ha

  • Pyridaphenthion (MTMC fine granules)

Economic Threshold

  • 36 second to third-instar caterpillars per 100 hills 

  • 25 caterpillars per 100 hills at hard dough stage
