Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR)
- Feed conversion ratio is the amount of feed it takes to grow one kilogram of fish. (USAID-HARVEST, 2011)
- The lower the FCR, the higher the profit.
- If the floating feed is used, FCR should not be greater 1.5.
- If the farm-made feed which was made with rice bran, oil cake, dried fish powder, etc., is used, FCR should not be greater 2.5.
- Thus, proper feeding management is important in fish farming.
- Determine the daily amount of feed for one month based on desired feeding rate.
