Management of Sow stop Breastfeeding

When the sow is weaned: Those sows are called weaned sows ready to mate.

This means it is ready for the next breeding season.

Typically, that sow will mate about 7-15 days after weaning.

Sow that have just been weaned: are thin because they are nursing their young.

The sows need to be fed with good quality feed to keep them healthy and fertile.

They should be placed near the boar and feed provided about 2.5-3 kg per pig/day.
