Rice Bug and Its Control
Scientific Name - Leptocorisa acuta Thunberg
Occurrence Stage - Flowering Stage, Grain Filling Stage
Nature of Damage - Both nymphs and adults suck plant sap from leaves and developing grain from pre-flowering spikelets to soft dough stage.

Best Control Measure

Cultivate early and late maturing varieties

Remove weeds around the field

Indica rice varieties (Sathi, Soma ,Mondagakutty) are resistant to rice bugs.
