Drinking Water
  • Water for chickens must be clean and free of germs. If the water is not clean, chlorine or other permitted chemicals should be added.

  • Amount of water, chickens drink is double than they eat. In hot seasons, they drink up to 3-4 times more.

1 Week Old Chicks

  • First-week aged chicks can be provided water with pie plate.

  • To maintain the cleanliness and quality of the drinking water, minimize contamination of water from chicken droppings and other flooring stuffs, zinc plates or wood plates should be placed under the water plates.

 

Above 1 Week Old Chick

 

  • Drinkers with nipples or bell-shaped drinkers should be installed a few days before the pie plates are removed, to provide water for chicks above one-week.

  • Always clean the drinkers and change water regularly.
