Pond Preparation

Before stocking fingerlings - 

• Make sure there is no water in the pond.
• If the pond is old, the pond must be cleaned not to left wild fish and insects and dried for about 1-2 weeks. 
• Apply lime 90-120 g per meter square at the bottom of the pond evenly to clean the pond and to increase pH.
• Fill the fresh water into the pond after setting up the filter net over the inlet pipe, one week after lime application. 
• It is impossible to completely drain and dry the pond, remove weeds and aquatic plants.
• Applying average chicken manure 7000-9000 kg per ha (2800-3600 kg/ac) can increase nutrient and water fleas. 
• 400 – 600 g of compost per acre can be applied during pond preparation.
