Cashew nut grafting

There are many methods for cashew nut grafting, and each method can be effective depending on the skill and training of the practitioner. Among them, the method of grafting by cutting and joined to the stem or roots from another plant is a highly effective and easy-to-use method for grafting cashew nuts.

a. Selection of Rootstock and Scion

• The Rootstock must be at least 2 months old, green, healthy, and free from pests and diseases. Leaves should be pruned from the selected rootstock 1-2 weeks before the grafting process.

• Scion taken from cashew plants that are at least 2 months old, healthy, vigorous, and free from pests and diseases.
