Nursery Preparation to Get Good Quality Seedlings

Use good quality seeds from reliable seed source

Make germination test before nursery preparation. (it is required to have minimum 80 seeds germination from 100 seeds tested)

Germinate the seeds by applying salt water treatment method and to get break open stage of germinating.

Wet and narrow nursery bed preparation methods should be applied

Characteristics of good seedlings are “short, big, strong, spread roots, uniform and free from diseases”.
