Physical characteristics

- Pangasius is a species with a body covered with slippery skin, a long and flat body, a dark gray dorsal, a slightly silvery belly, a wide mouth, a fairly small head, and large eyes.

- High dorsal fin with one hard and webbed fin, two hard pectoral fins on each side, two abdominal fins with 8 fins, and a long genital fin attached to the base of the tail (Phạm Văn Khánh, 1996).
