Type of feed

Type of feed

Type of feed: There are two types of feed that should be given to fish: ready-made feed/pellet food and homemade feed.

Complete feed/pellet feed: This is feed produced by a company as pellets, with a defined protein level, nutrients, size, proper packaging, instructions on how to use, and well storage.

Pelleted feed is generally expensive, but is widely used in export-oriented industrial fish farming in some large farms in Cambodia because pelleted feed is easy to manage, maintain, use, and achieves results according to the plan.

Homemade feed: Available in pellets and ball, low cost, using different raw materials depending on the region, but the protein content is not clear content. Processing takes a lot of time and labor.

Aquaculture farmers use their own compound feed, believing that the feed is low value, but do not consider feed ratios, labor, culture period, and economic analysis of costs per cycle.
