Germinating of Seeds for Growing

Seeds that are germinated can grow fast and minimize the risks of destructions by rates, birds and insects in the nursery or the field.

  • The seeds that are treated by salt water and washed are to soak in clean water for 24 hours. During this period, drain and change with clean water 6 hourly.

  • After 24 hours, wash the soaked seeds 2-3 times with clean water and drain.

  • Drained seeds are to spread about 4-6 inches thick on a concrete floor/ bamboo floor / timber floor and cover properly with wet gunny sheets or wet cloths.

  • Every 12 hourly, turn/ stir the seeds up and down and sprinkle with water when turning.

  • After 24-36 hours, the seeds start breaking open for germination and become ready to use in nursery.
