Chemical Fertilizers

According to the different growth stages of the plant, it is required to apply fertilizers at optimum time. Requirement for one acre of paddy: Urea fertilizer 50 Kg bag – 1 number, TSP fertilizer 25 Kg and Potash fertilizer 25 Kg.

 

Urea fertilizer (seedling stage and vegetative stage)

• Split 3 times for the application of Urea fertilizer 50 Kg 

• First application time (seedling stage)

In case of transplanting method, apply about 17 Kg or one third of the bag

In case of direct seeding method, apply 17 Kg at the time of having 5 leaves on plants

• Second application time (vegetative stage)

Apply another 17 Kg at the time of emergence of flag leaf

• Third application time (flowering stage)

Apply last 17 Kg, about 5 days before the emergence of panicle

• If natural fertilizers are applied fully and the soil tillage situation gets proper fermentation, it is not necessary to put Urea fertilizer as basal treatment. 

Triple Super Phosphate (Preparation stage)

• TSP fertilizer helps for abundance of roots growth, a greater number of tillers, growth of embryos and to gain weight of seeds

• Broadcast all 25 Kg TSP fertilizers, uniformly on the soil surface, not necessary to split the application time for TSP.

Potash Fertilizer (Preparation stage & Growth Stage)

• Potash encourages paddy plants for robustness, resist from pest and diseases, more numbers of tillers and minimize fall & loss of spike-lets from panicle

• Split 2 times for the application of Potash fertilizer , total 25 Kg;

• First time - During last round of soil tillage -12.5 Kg (Preparation stage)

• Second time - Time of panicle formation -12.5 Kg (Growth stage)

• Time of panicle formation varies based on life span of the paddy varieties. 

• Panicle formation starting time

 

• For 110-115 days varieties – 50 days after seeding

• For 130-135 days varieties- 70 days after seeding

• For 140-145 days varieties- 85 days after seeding
