Tips for Direct Seeding on Wet Soil Surface

Paddy varieties that have characters of short plant height, fair numbers of tillers and resistant to lodging could be selected for this planting method.

Soil surface should be evenly levelled, smooth soil tillage, enough rest period of tillage and properly fermented. 

Soil should have rest / sleep period

If there is not enough time for proper soil fermentation, clean up all the grassroots

Use maximum 1.5 – 2  baskets of seed for one acre of rice growing
