• During farrowing, the sow should be fed adequately for them and the embryo. The following amounts of feed are recommended for use at different stages during farrowing:
Remember that not to feed rice wine or beer waste to sows about to give birth, nursing sows, and piglets.
Feeding should be limited when the sow is about to give birth (overfeeding can cause the sow to become constipated and have difficulty giving birth), but the sow should be provided with sufficient clean drinking water.
Be careful about feeding, and feed in the right amount.
Overfeeding cause sows produce more fat, but too little feeding also cause thin.
Both of these problems will cause difficulties during farrowing and breastfeeding.
During pregnant, adequate calcium and phosphorus should be provided so that the sow can provide enough milk for the piglets.
Furthermore, placing sows in cramped cage, combined with a lack of calcium and phosphorus, also causes difficulty in giving birth to sow.
