Hybrid breed

• Breed improvement is an important factor that can be done because it can achieve high animal production.

• The main objectives of breeding are to increase economy and disease resistance.

• For example, by breeding a local pig with an imported pig, the piglets inherit the long body and fast growth rate from their father and the resistance to weather from their mother.

• Inbreeding between boar and piglet, sow and piglet, females and males piglet in the same litter, etc must be absolutely avoided (inbreeding).

• The sow pigs selected from the above breeding can be bred with imported boar that related breed.

• Industrial pig farms use this breeding system for 4-5 generations to reach the desired breeding stock.
