Pond management

During the period of culturing fish in a pond, pay attention to the following important activities:

• Farmers who are able to surround the pond with nets must carefully check the nets for any leaks or tears to prevent from aggressive fish or frogs from outside jumping into the pond and predate the fish.
• Check the pond dike regularly to prevent leaks or cracks and increase the pond dike and strong to prevent the pond from flooding, which can cause fish out.
• Check the water level in the pond to ensure that it does not drop too much, which will increase the water temperature or heat in the pond and impact to fish growth.
• If possible, the water level in the pond should be maintained at least 1 meter depth that fish can grow well.
• When you want to drain or pump water from outside into a pond, you should be careful about the quality of the water from the outside source, to avoid toxins or chemicals that farmers used chemical fertilizer.
• Should regularly provide additional feed to fish and change the manure in the manure storage so that the manure water will be good quality when draining into the fish pond.
• Also, during the fish farming period, avoid predatory fish and predatory animals that eat the small fish, such as snakehead fish, catfish, snake, frogs, and eels, etc
• Avoid letting cows and buffaloes enter the pond, which can pollute the pond water and deteriorate the water quality and also do not soak wood or leaves or wash clothes or dirty items in the pond water, which can easily poison the pond water and kill the fish.
• Regularly change the manure in the compost storage to make good quality for draining in the pond, that improves the water quality and enriches the pond water with natural nutrients.
