Nests placement and nest making methods are very important for raising indigenous chickens.
The nests should not be placed at locations having too much light, too high and too close to the ground level.
The nest should be placed and tied at a dark and quiet corner of the chicken coop, about 1.5-2 feet above the ground level and lay the straws inside.
It is recommended to provide one nest for one hen.
After every brooding and hatching period, burn the straws in the nest.
In order to prevent lice, ticks, mice and fleas, spray with water that is soaked with dried tobacco leaves, on the nests, perches and all the corners of the chicken coop.
