Nursery Preparation

Prepare the nursery where soil condition is rich with nutrients.

For 1 acre of paddy planting, it is sufficient to prepare one number nursery bed with the size of ( 3 ft width x 150 ft length x 4 inches height) 

Apply organic matters, rotten plant parts, rotten cow dungs and paddy husk charcoal as much as possible.

In one nursery bed, apply TSP fertilizer 6 Pyi and Potash 3 Pyi, as basal treatment.

To obtain uniform sized seedlings, the surface of the nursery bed should prepare to get even surface.

To prevent damaging of nursery beds due to soil erosion, make drainage furrows between the beds , so that irrigation and drainage are done properly.

Spread the germinated seeds uniformly on the nursery bed. First two third of the seeds are to apply thinly first on the bed and apply the remaining seeds on the gap areas. Use 1 cup (empty condense milk cup ) of seeds to apply on area of 3 ft square.

Cover with paddy husk charcoal/ ash over the seeds, to avoid displacements and loss of seeds due to rainfall and birds. (Make sure that the paddy husk charcoal/ ash does not mix with other variety’s paddy seeds inside)
