Pig breeds

• In general, the most common pig breeds for industrial pig production are Large White, Landrace, and Duroc or crossbred breeds.

• All three breeds produce red meat, combined with feed efficiency (2.5-2.8 kg of quality feed produces 1 kg of pork).

• Compared to domestic pig breeds, these exotic pig breeds are less resistant to disease and more susceptible to hot weather and poor-quality feed.
